Day 14: One of My Loves

I haven't really been up for journaling, but I'm gonna start making an effort to do so from now on. So...here it goes.

For me, photography is sort of a visual prayer. God gives me the beauty of His creation and has granted me the ability to notice Him on a daily basis, even in the mundane. I look around and thank God for being such a great artist; His brushstokes are infinitely more beautiful than those of Renoir, Van Gogh, Picasso, Matisse, and even DaVinci. I praise God daily for this - through my photographs. But God isn't the only artist here. He grants me the freedom to express myself, too, through deciding what to photograph and what to edit! I don't view this as "tainting His creation" but rather as an encouragement for others to observe God's creation in a way they never have. In short: Witnessing God's beautiful creation daily and thanking Him for it through photography is for me a prayer without words. The releasing of the shutter is my "amen."

Your words are beautiful and powerful...just like your prayers. Thank you for sharing them!
